Tirgu Mures is a small city, part of the Transylvania (Transilvania) region, Romania country. The name of the city "Targu Mures", comes from "targ" which means "market" and "Mures" the river which flows through the town. The Mures river is the second longest river in Romania. The city of Targu Mures is also known as Marosvasarhely in Hungarian, Novum Forum Siculorum in Latin, Neumarkt am Mieresch in German. Tirgu-Mures was for the first time documented in 1332. The nearest airport to Targu Mures is the Transilvania Targu Mures Airport, which is 15 km away and accessible directly by the E60 road. The town is located 360 kilometres north of Bucharest (Romania) and 570 kilometres east of Budapest (Hungary).
